Michael Broggie
Michael is widely recognized as an authority on the life and legacy of Walt Disney and the global empire he inspired. Michael earned his MBA and a Doctorate in Business Administration (summa cum laude) at Pacific University, San Diego.

He is co-founder and chairman of the board of governors of The Carolwood Society and chairman emeritus of the Carolwood Foundation, which operates Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn Museum in Griffith Park on behalf of the Walt Disney Family Foundation. He is a partner of Broggie Campbell Productions, a firm that produces railroad-related products for the Walt Disney Company and the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.

As a Disney scholar and public speaker, he has toured the country lecturing on his first-person experiences with Walt Disney and many Disney legends, including his father, the late Roger Broggie, a precision machinist who was selected by Walt to be his first Imagineer. Each semester, Michael is invited to lecture at Chapman University on the legacy of Walt Disney.

A vintage Baldwin steam locomotive at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is named Roger E. Broggie in honor of his father’s four decades producing unique mechanical innovations for Disney theme parks around the world.

Michael is an award-winning author publishing eight books. His latest book is the official souvenir guide to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, California. Walt Disney’s Words of Wisdom is an inspirational guide that draws from the sage advice Walt personally gave to Michael when he was 13 years old. His book titled Air Force One – The Final Mission describes the history of the Presidential Boeing 707 installed at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California. His book Walt Disney’s Railroad Story was honored with the Benjamin Franklin Gold Medal for Best Biography of the Year. His biographical profile on Warren Buffet’s longtime business partner Charlie Munger, co-founder of Berkshire Hathaway is contained in Poor Charlie’s Almanack.

Michael is married to Sharon Charmagne, co-founder of the Carolwood Society and Foundation and an accomplished artist. They reside in Prescott Lakes, Arizona, where they support civic and community organizations. Michael served as chair of the Appeals Board of the Prescott Fire Department and is the founding president and CEO of the Prescott Police Foundation.
